A RESOLUTION 1 Designating April 23, 1998, as "Take Our Daughters to Work Day" 2 in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, "Take Our Daughters to Work Day" is part of the Ms. 4 Foundation for Women's public education campaign that helps keep 5 girls healthy, confident and resilient during adolescence; and 6 WHEREAS, "Take Our Daughters to Work Day," now in its sixth 7 year, provides opportunities for businesses, educators, 8 community-based organizations and government officials to make 9 girls visible, valued and heard; and 10 WHEREAS, Last year, millions of girls across the country and 11 around the world went to workplaces with caring adult mentors 12 who paid attention to the girls' ideas and future plans and
1 showed them all the different life options that are available to 2 women; and 3 WHEREAS, "Take Our Daughters to Work Day" has provided many 4 government officials and employees with the opportunity to 5 better understand the challenges today's young women face 6 economically, socially and physically; therefore be it 7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate April 8 23, 1998, as "Take Our Daughters to Work Day" in Pennsylvania.
