        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           JUNE 21, 2005

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Paying tribute to and honoring the memory of Sgt. Andrew R.
     2     Jodon, a member of the 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment,
     3     3rd Infantry Division of the United States Army, who
     4     tragically lost his life while on active duty in Iraq.

     5     WHEREAS, Sgt. Andrew R. Jodon was born in College Township,
     6  Centre County, Pennsylvania, on September 23, 1977, and
     7  graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School, where he had played
     8  football and run track, in 1996; and
     9     WHEREAS, Sgt. Jodon enlisted in the United States Army and
    10  served in Germany and Bosnia before receiving an honorable
    11  discharge; and
    12     WHEREAS, In September 2003, Sgt. Jodon reenlisted in the
    13  United States Army, was stationed at Ft. Stewart, Georgia, and
    14  deployed to Iraq on January 9, 2005; and
    15     WHEREAS, Sgt. Jodon, beloved husband of Bobbi Jo, stepfather
    16  of Roni Sue and Kailin Leigey and son of Sandra Watson and
    17  Jeffrey Jodon, was honorably serving his country on May 12,
    18  2005, when he was tragically killed as a result of an explosion


     1  caused by a roadside bomb while fighting to free Iraq in
     2  Samarra, Iraq; therefore be it
     3     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives pay tribute to
     4  and honor the memory of Sgt. Andrew R. Jodon, with gratitude for
     5  his courage, leadership and selflessness, and extend condolences
     6  on his heroic death; and be it further
     7     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
     8  his wife, Mrs. Andrew R. Jodon, 861 Pine Glen Road, Karthaus,
     9  Pennsylvania 16845, with deepest respect for Sgt. Jodon's
    10  ultimate sacrifice in his fight for freedom on behalf of the
    11  citizens of our nation and of this Commonwealth.
