4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1. Section 1786 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:

8§ 1786. Required financial responsibility.

10(b.1) Notification required.--An insurer who has issued a
11new contract of motor vehicle liability insurance shall notify
12the department in a timely manner and in a method prescribed by
13the department's regulations.

15Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
