                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for deceptive
     3     business practices.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 4107(a) of Title 18 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
     8  § 4107.  Deceptive or fraudulent business practices.
     9     (a)  Offense defined.--A person commits an offense if, in the
    10  course of business, he:
    11         * * *
    12         (7.1)  signs a contract with a consumer for services,
    13     receives any payment under the contract and fails to perform
    14     the services required by the written contract;

     1     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
