        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 20, 2000

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Proclaiming June 3, 2000, as "Kids' Day" in Pennsylvania.

     2     WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recognizes that the
     3  future of this Commonwealth is in the minds, hearts and spirit
     4  of its children; and
     5     WHEREAS, Many families today find it increasingly difficult
     6  to spend adequate time together; and
     7     WHEREAS, Parents and children need to spend time together in
     8  order to adequately nurture children; and
     9     WHEREAS, The children of today will be the leaders of
    10  tomorrow; and


     1     WHEREAS, The beginning of June represents that time when our
     2  children are leaving school for the summer; and
     3     WHEREAS, It is only appropriate and good that our communities
     4  honor and celebrate our children in these endeavors on a special
     5  day, a "Kids' Day"; and
     6     WHEREAS, The Borough of Downingtown and the Downingtown Main
     7  Street program honor the children of the area by providing a day
     8  of family fun, education and entertainment on the first Saturday
     9  of June; therefore be it
    10     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby proclaim
    11  June 3, 2000, as "Kids' Day" in Pennsylvania.
