                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for a special registration plate to
     3     benefit cancer research.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     7  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
     8  § 1361.  Cancer research plate.
     9     The department, in consultation with the Pennsylvania Cancer
    10  Control, Prevention and Research Advisory Board and the American
    11  Cancer Society, shall design a special cancer research
    12  registration plate. Upon application of any person, accompanied
    13  by a fee of $35 which shall be in addition to the annual
    14  registration fee, the department shall issue the plate for a
    15  passenger car, motor home, trailer or truck with a gross vehicle


     1  weight rating of not more than 9,000 pounds. The Pennsylvania
     2  Cancer Control, Prevention and Research Advisory Board within
     3  the Department of Health shall receive $15 of the fee paid by
     4  the applicant for the plate and dedicate moneys received for
     5  purposes of cancer research.
     6     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
