                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Observing the week of October 20 through 24, 2003, as "National
     2     Businesswomen's Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, Pennsylvania seeks to extol the distinguished
     4  accomplishments of women in this Commonwealth, past and present,
     5  who have worked with vision and determination to progress the
     6  proud tradition of women in business and the professions; and
     7     WHEREAS, These women who endeavored to attain the highest
     8  standards of excellence remind us of the struggles, the
     9  obstacles and the omnipresent need to promote positive change
    10  throughout our Commonwealth; and
    11     WHEREAS, Women in Pennsylvania successfully started
    12  businesses, became professionals and embraced the challenge of


     1  succeeding with incontrovertible skill, intelligence and
     2  ability; and
     3     WHEREAS, The citizens of this Commonwealth owe an
     4  inexpressible debt of gratitude to these dedicated women for
     5  their invaluable contributions to the business and professional
     6  worlds, their families, their communities and this Commonwealth;
     7  therefore be it
     8     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives, in special
     9  recognition of women in business and the professions, observe
    10  October 20 through 24, 2003, as "National Businesswomen's Week"
    11  in Pennsylvania and recognize the invaluable contributions made
    12  by women in business and the professions.
