        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 21, 2005

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Expressing condolences on the death of United States Army
     2     Specialist Lee A. Wiegand.

     3     WHEREAS, United States Army Specialist Lee A. Wiegand was
     4  killed when an improvised explosive device exploded under his
     5  M2A2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle near Ramadi, Iraq, on September
     6  28, 2005; and
     7     WHEREAS, Spc. Wiegand was a resident of Great Bend,
     8  Susquehanna County, and was assigned to the Pennsylvania Army
     9  National Guard's 1st Battalion, 109th Infantry Regiment, 28th
    10  Infantry Division, New Milford; and


     1     WHEREAS, Spc. Wiegand was a gregarious young man as well as a
     2  dependable employee who always had time to help others; and
     3     WHEREAS, Spc. Wiegand had an excellent sense of humor and a
     4  talent for drawing and making people laugh; and
     5     WHEREAS, Spc. Wiegand is survived by his wife, Jessica, and
     6  newborn daughter, Jordan; and
     7     WHEREAS, Spc. Wiegand will be posthumously awarded the Purple
     8  Heart and the Combat Infantryman Badge; therefore be it
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives express
    10  condolences on the death of United States Army Specialist Lee A.
    11  Wiegand and honor his life and the ultimate sacrifice he made;
    12  and be it further
    13     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    14  the family of the late Spc. Lee A. Wiegand.
