A RESOLUTION
1 Recognizing Peter J. Liacouras, president of Temple University,
2 for his accomplishments during his tenure at Temple
3 University.
4 WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Peter J. Liacouras, Temple
5 University has achieved national prominence as a model public
6 research university with urban, suburban and overseas location;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, Peter J. Liacouras is serving in his 18th year as
9 Temple University's chief executive officer, his 28th year in
10 administration, having formerly served as Temple Law School
11 Dean, and his 38th year as professor of law; and
12 WHEREAS, President Liacouras' career has been characterized
13 by the continuous pursuit of excellence, the opening of campuses
14 and professions to persons from historically underrepresented
15 groups and a hard-nosed commitment to fiscal responsibility;
16 therefore be it
17 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize Peter
18 J. Liacouras for a lifetime of academic and professional
1 achievements which have brought great credit to himself, Temple
2 University and this Commonwealth.
