A RESOLUTION
1 Congratulating Randall R. Romig, Pennsylvania's top professional
2 angler, on qualifying for a tenth year in the Bass Masters
3 Classic world championship and recognizing his skill as a
4 bass angler.
5 WHEREAS, Randall R. Romig is a resident of Barto, Berks
6 County, Pennsylvania; and
7 WHEREAS, Mr. Romig is Pennsylvania's top professional angler,
8 with winnings in excess of $230,000, some of which was won
9 through Bassmaster events and the Bass Masters Classic; and
10 WHEREAS, The Bass Masters Classic is the "world series" of
11 professional fishing, and only 46 of the thousands of anglers
12 who compete in qualifying tournaments across the nation earn a
13 berth at the event; and
14 WHEREAS, Mr. Romig has competed in the Bass Masters Classic
15 nine times and has qualified for the event again in 1998; and
16 WHEREAS, Mr. Romig has earned cash prizes in 43% of all of
17 the Bassmaster events in which he has participated, earning him
18 the title "Mr. Consistency"; and
1 WHEREAS, Thousands of bass anglers who fish in tournaments in
2 Pennsylvania aspire to the achievements of Mr. Romig; therefore
3 be it
4 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives congratulate
5 Randall R. Romig, Pennsylvania's top professional angler, on
6 qualifying for a tenth year the Bass Masters Classic world
7 championship and recognize his skill as a bass angler.
