        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           OCTOBER 6, 1998

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing October as "Local Chamber of Commerce Month" and
     2     commending the Delco Chamber of Commerce as the largest
     3     suburban chamber in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

     4     WHEREAS, The Governor of Pennsylvania has proclaimed October
     5  as "Local Chamber of Commerce Month"; and
     6     WHEREAS, The chamber of commerce in Delaware County, known as
     7  the Delco Chamber of Commerce, is the largest suburban chamber
     8  of commerce in this Commonwealth and has over 2,800 members; and
     9     WHEREAS, The Delco Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 110th
    10  Anniversary last year, whereupon it renewed its commitment to
    11  foster and promote the economic well-being of Delaware County;
    12  and
    13     WHEREAS, The Delco Chamber of Commerce is one of 240 local
    14  chambers of commerce in this Commonwealth; and
    15     WHEREAS, These independent, nonprofit chambers are made up of
    16  individuals and organizations united to advance the commercial,
    17  financial, industrial and civic interest of this Commonwealth;
    18  therefore be it

     1     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize October
     2  as "Local Chamber of Commerce Month" and commend the Delco
     3  Chamber of Commerce as the largest suburban chamber in this
     4  Commonwealth.
