A RESOLUTION
1 Extending congratulations and appreciation to the Crystal Fire
2 Department, of St. Marys, on 100 years of service.
3 WHEREAS, The Crystal Hose Company was formed on September 17,
4 1900, at the Grange Hall in St. Marys, Pennsylvania; and
5 WHEREAS, The Crystal Hose Company included 61 members at its
6 inception; and
7 WHEREAS, The Crystal Hose Company changed its name to the
8 Crystal Fire Department in January 1902; and
9 WHEREAS, The Crystal Fire Department purchased its first
10 piece of motorized apparatus in 1917; and
11 WHEREAS, The Crystal Fire Department currently counts
12 approximately 85 active members, including four with more than
13 50 years of active service and one with more than 60 years of
14 active service; and
15 WHEREAS, The Crystal Fire Department and all of its members,
16 past and present, have provided a century of valuable and
17 courageous service in protecting the safety and health of the
1 residents of St. Marys, Pennsylvania; therefore be it
2 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend its
3 congratulations and appreciation to the Crystal Fire Department,
4 of St. Marys, Pennsylvania, for its 100 years of public service.
