A RESOLUTION 1 Urging the Congress of the United States to enact Senate Bill 2 1902, which is to become known as the Japanese Imperial Army 3 Disclosure Act. 4 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1902 was introduced in the United States 5 Senate on November 11, 1999, and if enacted will become known as 6 the Japanese Imperial Army Disclosure Act; and 7 WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1902 provides, among other things, for 8 the disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act of records 9 regarding certain persons and information of the Japanese 10 Imperial Army during World War II in a manner that does not 11 impair any investigation or prosecution conducted by the 12 Department of Justice or certain intelligence matters; and 13 WHEREAS, The citizens of this Commonwealth have an interest 14 in access to the information contained in those records; 15 therefore be it 16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 17 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania urge Congress to enact Senate Bill
1 1902, which is to become known as the Japanese Imperial Army 2 Disclosure Act; and be it further 3 RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 4 transmit a copy of this resolution to each member of Congress 5 from Pennsylvania. E31L82DMS/20000H0555R3802 - 2 -
