1Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
2act relating to the public school system, including certain
3provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
4schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
5laws relating thereto," providing for theology courses.

6The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7hereby enacts as follows:

8Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known 
9as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a 
10section to read:

11Section 1205.7. Theology Courses.--An individual who holds a
12teaching certificate in social studies may include courses taken
13in theology for the purposes of meeting the requirements of any
14of the following provisions:

15(1) Receiving or earning a college certificate or master's
16degree under section 1144.

17(2) Receiving a permanent college certificate under section
181205.

1(3) Meeting continuing professional development under
2section 1205.1.

3Section 2. The provisions of 22 Pa. Code are abrogated
4insofar as they are inconsistent with the addition of section
51205.7 of the act.

6Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
