        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MARCH 6, 2006

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the life and extending condolences for the supreme
     2     sacrifice of Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish of New
     3     Kingstown, Cumberland County, assigned to the 3rd Marine
     4     Division Detachment, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe,
     5     Hawaii, who tragically lost his life in the service of his
     6     country, in Afghanistan, on February 6, 2006.

     7     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish was assigned
     8  as medical corpsman to the 3rd Marine Division Detachment,
     9  Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe, Hawaii; and
    10     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish died


     1  February 6, 2006, when enemy forces northwest of Methar Lam in
     2  Laghman Province, Afghanistan, opened fire on the Marine patrol
     3  with which he was serving; and
     4     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish was
     5  graduated from Cumberland Valley High School, Mechanicsburg,
     6  Pennsylvania, in 1994; and
     7     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish enlisted in
     8  the Navy in 2002; and
     9     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish served more
    10  than two years at a fleet hospital based in Portsmouth,
    11  Virginia; and
    12     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish attended and
    13  was graduated from Field Medical Service School in Fort
    14  Pendleton, California, before being stationed in Hawaii last
    15  January; and
    16     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish was
    17  previously deployed to Iraq in March 2003 to participate in
    18  Operation Iraqi Freedom; and
    19     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish later served
    20  in a military hospital in Kuwait; and
    21     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish received the
    22  Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medal for his service in Kuwait;
    23  and
    24     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish was promoted
    25  to hospital corpsman third class in September 2005; and
    26     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish had been in
    27  Afghanistan since January of this year; and
    28     WHEREAS, Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish is the son
    29  of James L. and Jean L. (Rynard) Fralish of New Kingstown,
    30  Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County; therefore be it

     1     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives pay tribute to
     2  and honor the memory of Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish,
     3  with gratitude for his courage, leadership and selflessness in
     4  his fight for freedom on behalf of the citizens of our nation
     5  and of this Commonwealth; and be it further
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend its
     7  deepest condolences to Petty Officer 3rd Class John T. Fralish's
     8  family and friends.
