A RESOLUTION 1 Honoring Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Larry Brown upon his 2 election to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. 3 WHEREAS, On September 27, 2002, Larry Brown is entering the 4 Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts, the birthplace of 5 basketball; and 6 WHEREAS, Coach Brown has earned distinction as the only coach 7 in the history of the National Basketball Association to lead 8 six different teams to the playoffs; and 9 WHEREAS, The Philadelphia 76ers advanced to the National 10 Basketball Association finals for the first time in 18 years 11 during the 2000-2001 season under Coach Brown's leadership; and 12 WHEREAS, Ranked ninth on the all-time National Basketball 13 Association victory list entering the 2002-2003 season, Coach
1 Brown led the Denver Nuggets, New Jersey Nets, San Antonio 2 Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers and Indiana Pacers before joining 3 the Philadelphia 76ers; and 4 WHEREAS, Prior to his career with the National Basketball 5 Association, Coach Brown coached collegiate basketball teams in 6 North Carolina, California and Kansas; therefore be it 7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor 8 Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Larry Brown upon his election to 9 the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
