        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           NOVEMBER 21, 2000

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Honoring the rapid response, bravery and teamwork of station
     2     houses 32 Engine and 33 Truck and other firefighters which
     3     resulted in the rescue of all occupants in what could have
     4     been a fatal house fire in North Side, Pittsburgh.

     5     WHEREAS, Station houses 32 Engine and 33 Truck were the first
     6  firefighters to respond to a fire in the Spring Garden
     7  neighborhood of North Side, Pittsburgh, on June 1, 2000; and
     8     WHEREAS, Many other firefighting units followed them to the
     9  scene of the fire where three children and their mother were
    10  trapped in their burning home; and
    11     WHEREAS, The firefighters managed to save all four fire
    12  victims, who, along with four firefighters, required treatment
    13  at Allegheny General Hospital; therefore be it


     1     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor station
     2  houses 32 Engine and 33 Truck and the many other firefighters
     3  who responded to the Spring Garden neighborhood fire and rescued
     4  the trapped children and their mother and recognize in
     5  particular the firefighters who were injured in the line of
     6  duty.
