AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, requiring issuance of a permit for installation of
3 traffic-control signals under certain circumstances.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 6122 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
8 § 6122. Authority to erect traffic-control devices.

10 (e) Dangerous locations.--A permit shall be issued by the
11 department for the installation of a traffic-control signal at
12 an intersection or other dangerous location when the officials
13 of a municipality, at the urgent request of the citizens of the
14 community, decide that it is needed for the safety of all
15 citizens, particularly senior citizens and children.
16 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
