| A RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Encouraging the Governor to request that the Independent |
2 | Regulatory Review Commission and all Commonwealth agencies |
3 | with guidelines, regulations, licenses, certifications or |
4 | criteria that require a high school diploma deem a |
5 | postsecondary degree from an accredited institution of higher |
6 | education as satisfying the requirement. |
7 | WHEREAS, Pennsylvania currently has a population of students |
8 | who have not received a diploma from a traditional high school |
9 | or a Commonwealth Secondary Diploma, but have completed a |
10 | college degree program; and |
11 | WHEREAS, Completion of a degree program at an accredited |
12 | institution of higher education clearly demonstrates that the |
13 | recipient has achieved education beyond the requirements for a |
14 | high school diploma or Commonwealth Secondary Diploma; therefore |
15 | be it |
16 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage the |
17 | Governor to request that the Independent Regulatory Review |
18 | Commission and all Commonwealth agencies with guidelines, |
19 | regulations, licenses, certifications or criteria that require a |
20 | high school diploma deem a postsecondary degree from an |
