                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 30 (Fish) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, removing the requirement that the fishing license
     3     be displayed.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 2703 of Title 30 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
     8  § 2703.  Possession [and display] of licenses.
     9     (a)  General rule.--No person shall fish in any of the waters
    10  of this Commonwealth or in any boundary waters without first
    11  procuring the proper license required by this chapter. The
    12  license shall be kept about the person while fishing and shown
    13  upon the request of any waterways patrolman or other officer
    14  designated by the commission. In addition to showing the license
    15  to the officer, the holder thereof shall, upon demand, establish
    16  his further identity to the satisfaction of the officer by
    17  producing some other positive means of identification. [The
    18  commission may promulgate rules and regulations for the

     1  displaying of the license certificate, license button or other
     2  device, as it deems necessary.]
     3     (b)  Penalties.--
     4         [(1)  Except as provided in paragraph (2), any] Any
     5     person who violates this section commits a summary offense of
     6     the third degree.
     7         [(2)  Any person who violates any regulation concerning
     8     the displaying of the license certificate, button or other
     9     device promulgated under this section commits a summary
    10     offense of the fourth degree.]
    11     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
