AN ACT 1 Authorizing the Secretary of General Services to reimburse 2 volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue companies who respond to 3 fires or other emergencies on State-owned property; and 4 making an appropriation. 5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 6 hereby enacts as follows: 7 Section 1. Contracts for emergency services on State-owned 8 property. 9 The Secretary of General Services is hereby authorized to 10 enter into contracts with local volunteer fire, ambulance and 11 rescue companies to provide services necessary to extinguish 12 fires or perform any other allied services on State-owned 13 property. 14 Section 2. Contents of contract.
1 Any such contract between the Secretary of General Services 2 and a local volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue company shall 3 provide that the Department of General Services shall, 4 semiannually, upon receipt of proper proof, reimburse each 5 volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue company attending and 6 providing fire control or other allied services on State-owned 7 property up to an amount of $100 for each verified fire or 8 emergency call which the volunteer fire, ambulance and rescue 9 company made in the preceding six months as certified by the 10 person in charge at the particular State-owned property. 11 Section 3. Appropriation. 12 The sum of $25,000, or as much thereof as may be necessary, 13 is hereby appropriated to the Department of General Services for 14 the fiscal year July 1, 1989, to June 30, 1990, to effectuate 15 the purposes of this act. All funds unexpended, uncommitted or 16 unencumbered on June 30, 1990, shall lapse. 17 Section 4. Effective date. 18 This act shall take effect immediately. B10L71JRW/19890H0695B0776 - 2 -
