        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON VETERANS AFFAIRS AND EMERGENCY
           PREPAREDNESS, MAY 2, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Memorializing Congress to enact H. Res. 111, which establishes a
     2     Select Committee on Prisoners of War (POW) and Missing in
     3     Action (MIA) Affairs.

     4     WHEREAS, It is essential to fully investigate unresolved
     5  cases involving military personnel who served in the Vietnam
     6  Conflict, Korean Conflict, World War II, Cold War and Gulf War
     7  and who are missing in action (MIA), otherwise unaccounted for
     8  or known to have been prisoners of war (POWs); and
     9     WHEREAS, H. Res. 111, currently under consideration in
    10  Congress, would establish a select committee to be known as the
    11  Select Committee on POW and MIA Affairs; and
    12     WHEREAS, The select committee will conduct a full
    13  investigation of all unresolved matters relating to any United

     1  States personnel unaccounted for from the Vietnam Conflict,
     2  Korean Conflict, World War II, Cold War and Gulf War; and
     3     WHEREAS, It is appropriate that the select committee be
     4  established to conduct this investigation; and
     5     WHEREAS, Many of these POWs and MIAs are citizens of this
     6  Commonwealth; therefore be it
     7     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives memorialize
     8  Congress to enact H. Res. 111 and establish a Select Committee
     9  on POW and MIA Affairs; and be it further
    10     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    11  each member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
