INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, APRIL 25, 2006
A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing the Bedford County Young at Heart Games. 2 WHEREAS, The Bedford County Young at Heart Games is a three- 3 week event to be held in May 2006 which is designed for the 4 enjoyment and benefit of persons 50 years of age and older; and 5 WHEREAS, The games are cohosted by the Colonial Courtyard at 6 Bedford and the Huntingdon/Bedford/Fulton Area Agency on Aging; 7 and 8 WHEREAS, The games, created for eager rookies and seasoned 9 athletes, features a golf scramble, bowling, billiards, darts 10 and numerous other activities; and 11 WHEREAS, Three hundred participants are expected this year, 12 the fourth year of competition; and 13 WHEREAS, An awards banquet is being held to recognize 14 participation and individual achievement; therefore be it
1 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the 2 Bedford County Young at Heart Games and congratulate its 3 volunteers and participants; and be it further 4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr. Mick 5 Gordon, the 2006 president of the games, to the Colonial 6 Courtyard at Bedford and to the Huntingdon/Bedford/Fulton Area 7 Agency on Aging.
