A RESOLUTION
1 Honoring and recognizing United States Marine Corporal Albert
2 Pasquale Gettings' bravery and sacrifice for his country.
3 WHEREAS, United States Marine Corporal Albert Pasquale
4 Gettings, age 27, of New Castle, died in the line of duty for
5 his country on January 5, 2006, in Fallujah, Iraq; and
6 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings was a son of David C. and Juliet
7 P. Deli Gettings of New Castle; and
8 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings was married to the former
1 Stephanie A. Palimino; and
2 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings graduated from New Castle High
3 School in 1996 and attended Slippery Rock University and
4 Campbell University; and
5 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings entered the United States Marine
6 Corps at Parris Island, South Carolina, on June 3, 2002; and
7 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings was an infantry squad leader with
8 the Second Battalion, Sixth Marine Regiment, Fox Company; and
9 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings' first deployment was to the
10 United States Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan; and
11 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings' second deployment was to Al Anbar
12 Province near Fallujah, Iraq; and
13 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings died in the line of duty while
14 leading a patrol in Fallujah, Iraq; and
15 WHEREAS, Corporal Gettings' heroic actions saved the lives of
16 fellow unit soldiers; therefore be it
17 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor and
18 recognize United States Marine Corporal Albert Pasquale
19 Gettings' bravery and sacrifice for his country; and be it
20 further
21 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
22 the family of Corporal Gettings.
