                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of August 31, 1971 (P.L.398, No.96), entitled
     2     "An act providing for the creation, maintenance and operation
     3     of a county employes' retirement system, and imposing certain
     4     charges on counties and providing penalties," further
     5     providing for the definition of "superannuation retirement
     6     age" and for special early retirement.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  Section 2(10) of the act of August 31, 1971
    10  (P.L.398, No.96), known as the County Pension Law, amended
    11  December 20, 1983 (P.L.282, No.75), is amended to read:
    12     Section 2.  Definitions.--As used in this act:

    14     (10)  "Superannuation retirement age" means sixty years of
    15  age or upwards, except as applied to a contributor who has
    16  completed [twenty] fifteen years of total service, in which case
    17  superannuation retirement age means [fifty-five] fifty years of
    18  age or upwards.

    20     Section 2.  Section 14.1(b) of the act, added July 7, 1994

     1  (P.L.437, No.71), is amended to read:
     2     Section 14.1.  Special Early Retirement.--* * *
     3     (b)  To be eligible for special early retirement, a member
     4  must meet the specified requirements established in the
     5  provision at the time of retirement during the special early
     6  retirement period. Minimum eligibility for special early
     7  retirement cannot be less than attainment of [fifty-five] fifty
     8  years of age and ten years of credited service or thirty years
     9  of credited service with no age requirement. A member who is
    10  eligible for the special early retirement shall be credited with
    11  additional full years of service as stated in the resolution
    12  equal to no less than ten per cent nor more than thirty per cent
    13  of credited service, the result then rounded to the next full
    14  year, at the current designated county class base.
