| A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION |
| |
1 | Memorializing the Congress of the United States to reevaluate |
2 | state motor vehicle emission standards. |
3 | WHEREAS, Section 206 of the Clean Air Act (69 Stat. 1, 42 |
4 | U.S.C. § 7525) requires Federal emissions testing; and |
5 | WHEREAS, Section 209 of the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. § 7543) |
6 | regulates state standards; and |
7 | WHEREAS, Motor vehicles currently in service are newer models |
8 | than in the past; and |
9 | WHEREAS, Testing is expensive and unable to guarantee |
10 | improved air quality; therefore be it |
11 | RESOLVED (the Senate concurring), That the General Assembly |
12 | of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania memorialize the Congress of |
13 | the United States to reevaluate sections 206 and 209 of the |
14 | Clean Air Act (69 Stat. 1, 42 U.S.C. §§ 7525 and 7543) in light |
15 | of technological improvements and testing costs, goals and |
16 | success; and be it further |
17 | RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to |
18 | the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each |
