A RESOLUTION
Honoring the organizers and participants who stood up for
women's rights, equality and solidarity in Philadelphia on
January 20, 2018, for the second annual Women's March on
Philadelphia.
WHEREAS, The first Women's March was a worldwide protest on
January 21, 2017, to advocate legislation and policies regarding
human rights and other issues, including women's rights,
immigration reform, health care reform, reproductive rights, the
natural environment, LGBTQ rights, racial equality, freedom of
religion and workers' rights; and
WHEREAS, The 2017 Women's March was the largest single-day
protest in United States history and one of the largest in world
history, with approximately 5 million people participating on
all seven continents of the world; and
WHEREAS, On January 20, 2018, approximately 50,000 people
gathered at Logan Square in Philadelphia, then marched along the
Benjamin Franklin Parkway to Eakins Oval to once again support
equality and the rights of all individuals, especially those
