        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           SEPTEMBER 23, 2008

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Mourning the loss of First Lieutenant Jeffrey F. DePrimo, who
     2     gave his life in the line of duty on May 20, 2008.

     3     WHEREAS, The House of Representatives mourns the loss of
     4  First Lieutenant Jeffrey F. DePrimo, a member of the 109th
     5  Infantry Division, 1st Battalion, Delta Company West Pittston of
     6  the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, who made the greatest of
     7  all sacrifices when he gave his life in the line of duty on May
     8  20, 2008, at the age of 35; and
     9     WHEREAS, Born on December 6, 1972, in Wilkes-Barre, First

     1  Lieutenant DePrimo graduated with honors from Seton Catholic
     2  High School and Marywood University; and
     3     WHEREAS, A talented classical guitarist, First Lieutenant
     4  DePrimo composed and produced original music and performed with
     5  local bands; and
     6     WHEREAS, First Lieutenant DePrimo joined the Pennsylvania
     7  Army National Guard, 109th Infantry Division, 1st Battalion,
     8  Delta Company West Pittston in 2003 and served as a tank
     9  commander; and
    10     WHEREAS, First Lieutenant DePrimo completed Officer Candidate
    11  School and was commissioned as an officer in 2005; and
    12     WHEREAS, First Lieutenant DePrimo was then promoted to first
    13  lieutenant, and was due for a promotion to captain; and
    14     WHEREAS, To his great credit, First Lieutenant DePrimo was
    15  posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and the Combat Action
    16  Badge; and
    17     WHEREAS, People throughout the world who value freedom will
    18  forever owe First Lieutenant DePrimo a debt that can never be
    19  repaid; therefore be it
    20     RESOLVED That the House of Representatives note with great
    21  sadness the passing of First Lieutenant Jeffrey F. DePrimo, a
    22  true hero whose love of life, indomitable courage, enduring
    23  spirit and exemplary record of service greatly benefited all
    24  those who had the great fortune to know him and extend heartfelt
    25  condolences to his father, Joseph DePrimo, mother, Helen Ann
    26  Gitkos DePrimo, sisters, Jodi Calabro and Danielle, and many
    27  other family members, fellow comrades and friends; and be it
    28  further
    29     RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
    30  the family of First Lieutenant Jeffrey F. DePrimo.
