AN ACT
1 Amending Title 62 (Procurement) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further defining "local public procurement unit."
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. The definition of "local public procurement unit"
6 in section 1901 of Title 62 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
7 Statutes is amended to read:
8 § 1901. Definitions.
9 The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
10 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
11 context clearly indicates otherwise:

13 "Local public procurement unit." A political subdivision,
14 public authority, including, but not limited to, a municipal
15 authority or any other body corporate and politic created by one
16 or more political subdivisions pursuant to statute, a tax-
1 exempt, nonprofit educational or public health institution or
2 organization, nonprofit fire company, nonprofit rescue company,
3 nonprofit ambulance company and, to the extent provided by law,
4 any other entity, including a council of governments or an area
5 government, which expends public funds for the procurement of
6 supplies, services and construction.
