AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for width of vehicles.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 4921(b) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes, amended December 21, 1998 (P.L. ,
7 No.151), is amended to read:
8 § 4921. Width of vehicles.

10 (b) Special vehicles.--
11 (1) Any implement of husbandry or vehicle loaded with
12 vegetable produce or forage crops and not exceeding ten feet
13 in width may be driven, hauled or towed [between sunrise and
14 sunset] at any time on highways other than freeways.
1 (2) Any implement of husbandry not exceeding 14 feet 6 2 inches in width may be driven, hauled or towed [between 3 sunrise and sunset] at any time on highways other than 4 freeways between: 5 (i) Parts of one farm owned or operated by the owner 6 of the implement of husbandry. 7 (ii) Farms owned or operated by the owner of the 8 implement of husbandry located not more than 50 miles 9 apart. 10 (iii) (A) Farms; or 11 (B) a farm and a place of business of a mechanic 12 or dealer in implements of husbandry; 13 located not more than 100 miles away for the purpose of 14 buying, selling, trading, loaning and leasing, 15 demonstrating, repairing or servicing the implement of 16 husbandry. 17 (3) Special mobile equipment not exceeding nine feet two 18 inches in width may be driven, hauled or towed [between 19 sunrise and sunset] at any time on highways other than 20 freeways. 21 (4) The department may regulate the operation of special 22 vehicles subject to this subsection which regulations may 23 prohibit the operation of special vehicles on certain days or 24 during certain hours. 25 (5) An implement of husbandry or vehicle used 26 exclusively for highly perishable crops for processing and 27 not exceeding 14 feet 6 inches in width may be operated on 28 highways other than freeways [between sunset and sunrise only 29 during the period of May 20 to October 15] at any time. The 30 implement or vehicle, when used at this time, shall have two 19990H0927B1027 - 2 -
1 rotating yellow beacons and vehicular hazard signal lamps
2 operating.
3 (6) Commercial implements of husbandry not exceeding 12
4 feet in width, including wheels and tires, may be driven,
5 hauled or towed [between sunrise and sunset] at any time on
6 highways other than freeways.

8 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
