AN ACT
1 Amending the act of December 19, 1984 (P.L.1093, No.219),
2 entitled "An act relating to noncoal surface mining
3 conservation and reclamation," further providing for mining
4 permits and renewals thereof.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 7 of the act of December 19, 1984
8 (P.L.1093, No.219), known as the Noncoal Surface Mining
9 Conservation and Reclamation Act, is amended by adding a
10 subsection to read:
11 Section 7. Mining permit; reclamation plan.

13 (a.1) Duration and renewal.--The permit issued pursuant to
14 subsection (a) shall have a duration of five years beginning on
15 the date of issuance and shall be renewable for the same period
16 except as otherwise provided by this act.

18 Section 2. This act shall apply to any mining permit issued
19 on or after the effective date of this act.
1 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
