A RESOLUTION 1 Recognizing October 10, 2008, as "James H. Gray Day" in 2 Pennsylvania and honoring the career and service of the 3 Borough of Dalton Police Chief James H. Gray. 4 WHEREAS, Police Chief James H. Gray served the Borough of 5 Dalton since 1983; and 6 WHEREAS, Police Chief Gray was born on October 12, 1949, he 7 married Patricia Gray in 1984 and they had one son, Brian Gray; 8 and 9 WHEREAS, The Dalton Borough Council has proclaimed October 10 10, 2008, as "James H. Gray Day" in the Borough of Dalton in 11 recognition of Police Chief Gray and his service and sacrifice 12 to the community; and 13 WHEREAS, Police Chief Gray serves as the president of Lodge 14 No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police, is a member of the 15 Chief of Police Association of Lackawanna County, the Northeast 16 Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police and the Dalton Business and 17 Professional Association; and 18 WHEREAS, Police Chief Gray has worked to lower the use of
1 illegal drugs in this Commonwealth and has fought to keep drugs 2 off of the streets as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education officer 3 for eight years and a street supervisor for the Lackawanna 4 County Drug Task Force from 1989 to 1996; therefore be it 5 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize October 6 10, 2008, as "James H. Gray Day" in Pennsylvania and honor the 7 career, service and life of the Borough of Dalton Police Chief 8 James H. Gray, upon his retirement; and be it further 9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to 10 the Borough of Dalton Police Chief James H. Gray and the Borough 11 Council of Dalton.
