A RESOLUTION 1 Urging the district council person of the seventh district of 2 the City of Philadelphia to take action in order to name the 3 public school at G and Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia 4 after Officer Isabel Nazario. 5 WHEREAS, Officer Isabel Nazario joined the Philadelphia 6 Police Department in 1989; and 7 WHEREAS, Officer Nazario was assigned to the Narcotic Strike 8 Force and was detailed to the 16th Police District in West 9 Philadelphia; and 10 WHEREAS, After 19 years of service with the Philadelphia 11 Police Department, Officer Nazario was killed in the line of 12 duty on September 5, 2008, when a 16-year-old drove a stolen 13 vehicle and crashed it into the cruiser in which Officer Nazario 14 and her partner were riding; and 15 WHEREAS, Officer Nazario was the first Hispanic female
1 officer to be killed in the line of duty in the City of 2 Philadelphia; and 3 WHEREAS, To honor her service and sacrifice, it is 4 appropriate that the public school located at G and Hunting Park 5 Avenue in Philadelphia be named after Officer Nazario; therefore 6 be it 7 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge the district 8 council person of the seventh district of the City of 9 Philadelphia to take action in order to name the public school 10 at G and Hunting Park Avenue in Philadelphia after Officer 11 Isabel Nazario.
