                                     AN ACT

     1  Providing for the observance of "Pennsylvania Agriculture Day"
     2     and "Pennsylvania Agriculture Week."

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Short title.
     6     This act shall be known and may be cited as the Agriculture
     7  Day and Week Designation Act.
     8  Section 2.  Designation.
     9     (a)  General rule.--Except as set forth in subsection (b),
    10  the following apply:

     1         (1)  The first day of spring is designated "Pennsylvania
     2     Agriculture Day."
     3         (2)  The first week of spring is designated "Pennsylvania
     4     Agriculture Week."
     5     (b)  Exception.--If "National Agriculture Day" or "National
     6  Agriculture Week" are observed other than on the first day of
     7  spring or during the first week of spring, the observance of
     8  "Pennsylvania Agriculture Day" and "Pennsylvania Agriculture
     9  Week" shall coincide with the day and week selected for the
    10  national observance.
    11  Section 3.  Proclamation by Governor.
    12     The Governor shall issue a proclamation each year calling
    13  upon the people of this Commonwealth to recognize "Pennsylvania
    14  Agriculture Day" and "Pennsylvania Agriculture Week."
    15  Section 4.  Effective date.
    16     This act shall take effect immediately.
