                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
     2     act relating to the public school system, including certain
     3     provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
     4     schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
     5     laws relating thereto," providing an additional supplemental
     6     payment to certain school districts.

     7     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     8  hereby enacts as follows:
     9     Section 1.  The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known
    10  as the Public School Code of 1949, is amended by adding a
    11  section to read:
    12     Section 2502.39.  Per Capita Supplement.--(a)  A school
    13  district is eligible to receive a per capita supplement payment
    14  from the Commonwealth for the 2000-2001 school year if that
    15  school district received less basic education funding per
    16  average daily membership for the 2000-2001 school year than that
    17  school district received for equalized subsidy for basic
    18  education per average daily membership for the 1990-1991 school


     1  year.
     2     (b)  Each qualifying school district will receive an
     3  additional Commonwealth payment so that the basic education
     4  funding per average daily membership for the 2000-2001 school
     5  year will equal the equalized subsidy for basic education per
     6  average daily membership for the 1990-1991 school year.
     7     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
