                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
     2     Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
     3     sexual offender treatment.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 9718.1 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
     8  § 9718.1.  Sexual offender treatment.

    10     (e)  Counseling while on parole.--If special conditions are
    11  imposed for therapy or counseling for sex offenders pursuant to
    12  subsection (b)(1)(iii), the offender shall be required to attend
    13  counseling sessions in a program approved by the Pennsylvania
    14  Board of Probation and Parole and shall be financially
    15  responsible for all fees assessed in relation to the counseling
    16  sessions. The board shall monitor the compliance of the


     1  offender. If the offender can prove to the satisfaction of the
     2  court that the offender cannot afford to pay for the counseling
     3  sessions, the parole office shall pay the requisite fees.
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect immediately.
