A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the month of October 2016 as "Chiropractic
Conservative Care First Month" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The chiropractic profession, since its founding more
than 120 years ago, has promoted musculoskeletal and
neurological health and overall wellness by encouraging patients
and the public at large to embrace and maintain a healthy
lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, Licensed doctors of chiropractic pioneered the
clinical concept of conservative care first as an effective and
efficient treatment approach to prevent, care for and
rehabilitate musculoskeletal conditions, injuries and
afflictions; and
WHEREAS, The American Chiropractic Association has declared
the month of October 2016 as "National Chiropractic Health
Month"; and

WHEREAS, Noted for its clinical efficacy and cost-
effectiveness, conservative care first has been successfully
utilized to treat a diverse patient population, including
injured employees, students, athletes, office workers, laborers,
accident victims and those more commonly presenting lower back
and neck pain problems; and
WHEREAS, In confronting and helping to solve this
Commonwealth's opioid addiction crisis and the associated human,
social and economic tolls, the conservative care first approach
has repeatedly proven its clinical and economic effectiveness
with all-natural, safe and effective methods of healing through
nonpharmaceutical, nonsurgical and noninvasive care; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvanians can clinically and economically
benefit from the primary care and healthy lifestyle-related
services of the more than 4,300 doctors of chiropractic in this
Commonwealth; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the
month of October 2016 as "Chiropractic Conservative Care First
Month" in Pennsylvania.
