AN ACT
Amending Title 65 (Public Officers) of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes, providing for use of government
property and for government vehicles.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Title 65 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes is amended by adding a part to read:

2301. Definitions.

§ 2301. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:
"Political subdivision." A county, city, borough,
incorporated town, township, school district or area career and
technical school or county institution district and an
authority, entity or body organized by a county, city, borough,
incorporated town, township, school district or area career and
technical school or county institution district.
"Public employee." An individual employed by the
Commonwealth or a political subdivision.
"Public official." A person:
(1) Elected by the public or elected or appointed by a
governmental body.
(2) Appointed as an official in the executive,
legislative or judicial branch of this Commonwealth or a
political subdivision.
§ 2302. Proof of valid driver's license required.
A public official or public employee who operates a
government vehicle shall annually provide proof to the
respective governmental body or employer responsible for the
government vehicle that the public official or public employee
holds a valid driver's license under 75 Pa.C.S. Ch. 15 (relating
to licensing of drivers).
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
