| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An |
2 | act relating to the public school system, including certain |
3 | provisions applicable as well to private and parochial |
4 | schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the |
5 | laws relating thereto," further providing for appropriations |
6 | for ensuing years. |
7 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
8 | hereby enacts as follows: |
9 | Section 1. Section 2551 of the act of March 10, 1949 |
10 | (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is |
11 | amended to read: |
12 | Section 2551. [Unused] Appropriations for Ensuing Years.-- |
13 | (a) At the end of any fiscal year, any balance of the State |
14 | appropriation remaining on hand through forfeiture, or |
15 | otherwise, shall be added to the State appropriation made up for |
16 | the ensuing fiscal year. |
17 | (b) If reimbursements under this article are not enacted by |
18 | the last day of the fiscal year and if this causes a school |
19 | district to incur a loan to continue operations, the amount of |
20 | the interest on the loan shall be added to the appropriation for |

1 | reimbursement of the affected school district for the ensuing |
2 | fiscal year. |
3 | Section 2. The amendment of section 2551 of the act shall |
4 | apply to fiscal years beginning after June 30, 2009. |
5 | Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
