AN ACT 1 Amending the act of December 15, 1986 (P.L.1610, No.181), 2 entitled "An act providing for the establishment and 3 operation of a Statewide system for the prevention and 4 control of rabies; imposing additional powers and duties on 5 the Departments of Agriculture and Health; providing for 6 emergency declarations; fixing penalties for violations; and 7 making an appropriation," further providing for testing. 8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 9 hereby enacts as follows: 10 Section 1. Section 7 of the act of December 15, 1986 11 (P.L.1610, No.181), known as the Rabies Prevention and Control 12 in Domestic Animals and Wildlife Act, is amended to read: 13 Section 7. Testing. 14 (a) Basic cost.--All testing and other necessary or 15 appropriate rabies control conducted upon rabid or suspected 16 rabid animals appropriate to protect human life and safety shall 17 be conducted free of charge at State laboratories or other 18 facilities designated by the secretary. 19 (b) Associated costs.--The department shall provide for
1 reimbursement of licensed veterinarians for costs associated 2 with testing under subsection (a). 3 (1) The maximum amount to be reimbursed under this 4 subsection shall be $25 per test. 5 (2) Payments under this subsection shall be funded from 6 the General Fund. 7 (3) The department shall promulgate regulations to 8 administer this subsection. 9 Section 2. Section 1001(b) of the act of December 7, 1982 10 (P.L.784, No.225), known as the Dog Law, is repealed insofar as 11 it is inconsistent with this act. 12 Section 3.
