                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of March 4, 1971 (P.L.6, No.2), entitled "An
     2     act relating to tax reform and State taxation by codifying
     3     and enumerating certain subjects of taxation and imposing
     4     taxes thereon; providing procedures for the payment,
     5     collection, administration and enforcement thereof; providing
     6     for tax credits in certain cases; conferring powers and
     7     imposing duties upon the Department of Revenue, certain
     8     employers, fiduciaries, individuals, persons, corporations
     9     and other entities; prescribing crimes, offenses and
    10     penalties," providing for voluntary contributions to the
    11     United States Olympics Committee, PENNSYLVANIA DIVISION; and   <--
    12     making a repeal.

    13     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    14  hereby enacts as follows:
    15     Section 1.  The act of March 4, 1971 (P.L.6, No.2), known as
    16  the Tax Reform Code of 1971, is amended by adding a section to
    17  read:
    18     Section 315.  Space on Form for Contributions.--(a)  The
    19  department shall provide a space on the face of the individual
    20  income tax return form whereby an individual may voluntarily
    21  designate a contribution of any amount desired to the United


     1  States Olympics Committee, PENNSYLVANIA DIVISION.                 <--
     2     (b)  The amount so designated by an individual on the income
     3  tax return form shall be deducted from the tax refund to which
     4  such individual is entitled and shall not constitute a charge
     5  against the income tax revenues due the Commonwealth.
     6     (c)  The department shall determine annually the total amount
     7  designated pursuant to this section and shall report such amount
     8  to the State Treasurer, who shall transfer such amount from the
     9  General Fund to the United States Olympics Committee,             <--
    10  PENNSYLVANIA DIVISION. The department shall be reimbursed from
    11  the moneys contributed for any administrative costs incurred
    12  above and beyond the cost savings it realizes as a result of
    13  individual total refund designations.
    14     (d)  The department shall provide adequate information
    15  concerning the United States Olympics Committee in its
    16  instructions which accompany State income tax return forms,
    17  which shall include the listing of an address, furnished to it
    18  by the committee, to which contributions may be sent by those
    19  taxpayers wishing to contribute to said committee but who do not
    20  receive refunds.
    21     Section 2.  Section 12 of the act of June 23, 1982 (P.L.597,
    22  No.170), known as the Wild Resource Conservation Act, is
    23  repealed insofar as it is inconsistent with this act.
    24     Section 3.  This act shall apply to taxable years beginning
    25  on or after the effective date of this act.
    26     Section 4.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
