                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 66 (Public Utilities) of the Pennsylvania
     2     Consolidated Statutes, further providing for services
     3     provided to certain organizations.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 1511 of Title 66 of the Pennsylvania
     7  Consolidated Statutes, amended December 9, 2002 (P.L.   ,
     8  No.203), is amended to read:
     9  § 1511.  [Electricity] Service supplied to certain
    10             organizations.
    11     (a)  Electric.--Any public utility company supplying electric
    12  service shall, upon application, permit a volunteer fire

     1  company, a nonprofit rescue squad or ambulance service or a
     2  nonprofit senior citizen center to elect to have its electric
     3  service rendered pursuant to a rate schedule which provides
     4  equivalent charges for such service as residential rates upon
     5  execution of a contract for a minimum term of one year.
     6     (b)  Telephone.--Any public utility company supplying
     7  telephone service shall, upon application, permit a volunteer
     8  fire company to elect to have its telephone service in its
     9  engine room rendered pursuant to a rate schedule which provides
    10  equivalent charges for such service as residential rates upon
    11  execution of a contract for a minimum term of one year.
    12     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
