AN ACT 1 Designating a portion of Dreshertown Road in Montgomery County, 2 as the Sergeant James R. Miller Memorial Highway. 3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 4 hereby enacts as follows: 5 Section 1. Sergeant James R. Miller Memorial Highway. 6 (a) Declaration of policy.--The General Assembly finds and 7 declares as follows: 8 (1) James R. Miller was a resident of Upper Dublin 9 Township, Montgomery County, and served on the Upper Dublin 10 Police Department for 28 years. He was a patrol sergeant for 11 the last 21 years of his service on the force. 12 (2) Before joining the Upper Dublin Police Department,
1 Sergeant Miller served with distinction in the United States 2 Air Force. 3 (3) At age 55, Sergeant Miller died in an automobile 4 accident while on duty, on the morning of Tuesday, April 20, 5 2004. He is survived by his wife, two children and two 6 grandchildren. 7 (b) Designation.--Dreshertown Road in Montgomery County, 8 Upper Dublin Township, between Route 63, Welsh Road and Route 9 152, North Limekiln Pike is hereby designated as the Sergeant 10 James R. Miller Memorial Highway. 11 (c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and 12 maintain appropriate signs to indicate the designation under 13 subsection (b). 14 Section 2.
