AN ACT 1 Amending the act of June 24, 1937 (P.L.2017, No.396), entitled 2 "An act creating in each county (except of the first class) 3 as a separate corporation, and in each city of the first and 4 second class as a part of the city government, an 5 institutional district for the care and maintenance of 6 certain indigent persons and children; prescribing the powers 7 and duties of county commissioners, county treasurers, city 8 departments of public welfare, the State Department of 9 Welfare and the State Department of Public Assistance in 10 respect thereto; abolishing certain poor districts and 11 terminating the terms of directors, overseers, guardians and 12 managers of the poor and poor district auditors, and 13 providing for the temporary employment of certain of them; 14 providing for the transfer, vesting, sale and disposition of 15 the property of poor districts and the payment of their 16 obligations; imposing certain existing obligations on 17 institution districts and on the Commonwealth; regulating the 18 affairs of poor districts until abolished; revising, 19 amending, changing and consolidating the law relating to the 20 care of the poor; and repealing existing laws," deleting 21 provisions relating to the duty of counties to provide 22 treatment to indigents for hydrophobia. 23 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 24 hereby enacts as follows: 25 Section 1. Section 404 of the act of June 24, 1937 26 (P.L.2017, No.396), known as the County Institution District
