AN ACT

Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, further providing for person with disability plate

3

and placard.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 1338 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania

7

Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding subsections to read:

8

§ 1338.  Person with disability plate and placard.

(c.3)  Person with temporary emergency disability placard.--

11

On the initial application of any person who meets the

12

qualifications of subsections (a) and (c), the person shall

13

qualify for a temporary emergency disability placard that shall

14

remain valid for 30 days from the date of issuance and shall not

15

be renewed. The placard shall be displayed as required by

16

subsection (b), and the application required by the department

17

in subsection (a) shall be made available on demand for

inspection at all times when in use.

(c.4)  Authorization and issuance of temporary emergency

3

disability placard.--A member of the General Assembly or an

4

employee of a member of the General Assembly, in performance of

5

an official duty, may issue a constituent a temporary emergency

6

disability placard. The application required by the department

7

in subsection (a) shall be provided by the constituent to the

8

member or employee of a member of the General Assembly for

9

verification and duplication before issuance. Authorizations are

10

subject to inspection by the department and shall be retained

11

for a period of two years by the office of issuance.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
