                                     AN ACT

     1  Requiring certain coverage in health insurance policies.

     2     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     3  hereby enacts as follows:
     4  Section 1.  Prostate cancer.
     5     An insurance provider which provides coverage for health
     6  insurance shall allow at least two days of inpatient care for a
     7  patient who undergoes surgery for removal of his testicles as
     8  treatment or partial treatment for prostate cancer. If a
     9  treating physician determines that hospitalization of longer
    10  than two days is necessary to provide responsible medical care
    11  and if a second physician determines that this opinion is
    12  reasonable, the insurance provider shall allow the prescribed
    13  period of hospitalization.
    14  Section 2.  Effective date.
    15     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
