AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, further providing for self-insurance.
3 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
4 hereby enacts as follows:
5 Section 1. Section 1787 of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
6 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
7 § 1787. Self-insurance.

9 (c.1) Entities eligible for self-insurance.--The following
10 entities may qualify for self-insurance:
11 (1) Individuals.
12 (2) Corporations or partnerships.
13 (3) Fraternal benefit societies, orders or associations
14 conducted not for profit and having a lodge system with
15 ritualistic form of work and representative form of
16 government.
17 (4) Beneficial or relief associations conducted not for
1 profit formed by churches, societies, classes, firms or
2 corporations with or without ritualistic form of work, the
3 privilege of membership in which is confined to the members
4 of churches, societies or classes and to the members and
5 employees of such firms or corporations.
