AN ACT

Amending the act of December 22, 1989 (P.L.702, No.93), entitled

2

"An act requiring school directors to prohibit the use of

3

steroids by pupils involved in athletics; requiring education

4

regarding the use of anabolic steroids; requiring penalties

5

for unauthorized use of anabolic steroids; and providing for

6

dispensing anabolic steroids and for prescriptions for

7

anabolic steroids," further providing for education regarding

8

use of performance-enhancing drugs.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

10

hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.  Section 2 of the act of December 22, 1989

12

(P.L.702, No.93), entitled "An act requiring school directors to

13

prohibit the use of steroids by pupils involved in athletics;

14

requiring education regarding the use of anabolic steroids;

15

requiring penalties for unauthorized use of anabolic steroids;

16

and providing for dispensing anabolic steroids and for

17

prescriptions for anabolic steroids," is amended to read:

Section 2.  Education regarding steroid use.

The board of school directors in every school district shall

include, with any other drug and alcohol program required by

2

law, education regarding the dangers of anabolic steroids [with

3

any other drug and alcohol program required by law], diuretics,

4

creatine, androstenedione, stimulants and other performance-

5

enhancing drugs.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
