                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of June 24, 1931 (P.L.1206, No.331), entitled
     2     "An act concerning townships of the first class; amending,
     3     revising, consolidating, and changing the law relating
     4     thereto," further providing for composition of park or
     5     recreation boards.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Section 3010 of the act of June 24, 1931
     9  (P.L.1206, No.331), known as The First Class Township Code,
    10  reenacted and amended May 27, 1949 (P.L.1955, No.569) and
    11  amended July 2, 1953 (P.L.321, No.69), is amended to read:
    12     Section 3010.  Composition of Park or Recreation Boards.--
    13  Park or recreation boards, when established, shall consist of
    14  five [or], seven or nine persons, and when established in a
    15  township having a school board, two of the members [shall] may
    16  be members or appointees of the school board. The other members
    17  of such boards shall be appointed by the commissioners of such
    18  township. The members of the board shall serve for terms of five
    19  years or until their successors are appointed, except that the

     1  members of such board first appointed shall be appointed for
     2  such terms that the terms of not more than two members shall
     3  expire annually thereafter. Members of such board shall serve
     4  without pay. All persons so appointed shall serve their full
     5  terms unless they shall voluntarily resign or be removed by the
     6  township commissioners for malfeasance or nonfeasance of duty.
     7  Vacancies in such board, occurring otherwise than by expiration
     8  of term, shall be filled for the unexpired term, in the same
     9  manner as original appointments.
    10     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
