                                     AN ACT

     1  Requiring all State-owned rest stop facilities to have a family
     2     restroom.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  Short title.
     6     This act shall be known and may be cited as the Family
     7  Restroom Law.
     8  Section 2.  Definitions.
     9     The following words and phrases when used in this act shall
    10  have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
    11  context clearly indicates otherwise:
    12     "State-owned rest stop facility."  A facility owned or
    13  operated by the Commonwealth or operated by a concessionaire on
    14  any portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike or any portion of an
    15  interstate highway within this Commonwealth.
    16  Section 3.  Restrooms.

     1     Every State-owned rest stop facility shall provide a separate
     2  family restroom for use by disabled persons who require the
     3  assistance of a family member or other person in order to use
     4  the restroom.
     5  Section 4.  Compliance.
     6     All State-owned rest stop facilities shall comply with this
     7  act within three years of the effective date hereof.
     8  Section 5.  Effective date.
     9     This act shall take effect immediately.
